Amptree LLC (“Amptree,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the AmpTree website at amptree.io and the AmpTree mobile application (collectively, the “Service”). AmpTree is a social community for music — artist profiles, posts, replies, direct messages, follows, and a merchandise marketplace powered by artist-operated Shopify storefronts.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. When you create an account through Firebase Authentication, we collect your email address and the display name you choose.
Profile and content. We store the content you create and interactions you have in the app — profile details, profile photos, posts, replies, direct messages, follows, blocks, and reports — in Cloud Firestore. Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage.
Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we receive a device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) so we can deliver notifications.
Merchandise and checkout. Merch is sold by independent artists through their own Shopify storefronts. When you choose to buy an item, AmpTree directs you to the artist’s Shopify-hosted checkout, where Shopify and its payment processor collect your payment and shipping information directly to complete and fulfill your order. AmpTree does not collect or store your payment card details or shipping address. To power analytics for you and the artist, we record limited in-app activity (such as when you tap to check out) and receive limited confirmed-order information from the artist’s Shopify store — such as an order identifier, total, currency, and item count — but not your payment or shipping details.
Usage and device data. Firebase Analytics collects standard mobile analytics — app opens, screen views, in-app events, approximate region, device model, operating system version, and a resettable advertising identifier — to help us understand how the app is used and to improve it. We do not use this data for advertising.
Reports and safety signals. When you report a user or piece of content, we store the report, the content involved, and the action taken so we can enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content or activity for third-party advertising.
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only with what they need to do their job:
We may also disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AmpTree, our users, or the public.
Your profile, posts, replies, and follows are visible to other AmpTree users by default. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient. Blocks and reports are not shown to the user being blocked or reported.
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. Order records and related transaction data may be retained for longer to meet tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations. Safety-related records — such as reports, removal actions, and bans — may be retained after account deletion to enforce our Terms of Service.
You can delete your AmpTree account at any time from inside the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your profile, posts, replies, follows, and stored profile photos. Direct messages you sent may remain visible to the recipient. Order and payment records held by artists’ Shopify stores and their payment processors are controlled by those parties under their own policies.
You may also:
AmpTree is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
We rely on industry-standard infrastructure from Google Firebase and take reasonable measures to protect your information. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure; please use a strong, unique password and let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.
AmpTree is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
